I love shooting engagement photos. They are a great time to get to the know the couple and what their tastes are. We really just let them be themselves. Just the joyful truth. When it comes time for the wedding, couples are used to us photographing them, and we have a better idea going in of what they are looking for.

For this shoot, we started at Botanica, then headed down to Old Town.

In our continued effort to catch up on our blog, here are some fun photos with Jenny and Ryan. We recently delivered their wedding photos, and they’re both so nice, and you’ll never meet some one more bubbly than Jenny.

I’ve gotten quite a bit behind on blogging. We’ve been busy! Over the next few weeks, we’ll be caught up. For starters, here are some favorites from an engagement session. Since we give a disc with a release to use the photos however, our clients come up with creative ways to use their pictures. Andrew and Leah ended up making a sign in wedding guestbook with their photos. It was awesome to see them using and enjoying their photos.

Mosaic Photo travelled up to Buhler, Kansas to shoot Kari and Kaleb’s wedding. We soon learned that things move a little slower in the small town – which was a nice change of pace. Again, we were blessed to be working with such nice, hospitable families.

We had the opportunity to shoot Abby and Austin’s wedding back on St. Patrick’s Day. It was a really fun day. The ceremony was held in Abby’s aunt’s house – which was amazing. The reception was a pub crawl through Old Town. Good times with great people.

I didn’t always want to be a wedding photographer. When I was a kid, I went to them almost begrudgingly. Weddings were something to get through, hoping to get a good piece of cake at the end.

A couple of years ago, C.J. had a friend insist he shoot his wedding. Knowing I had shot for a few years, C.J. convinced me that I should help him out. Throughout that wedding day, we had numerous people asking how long we had done wedding photography. Apparently we gave off a vibe that we knew what we were doing.

From there, we kept getting referrals from people, and requests for how much we charge. So, we started Mosaic Photo.

We’ve learned a lot since then. And I actually really like taking pictures at weddings. It’s great be a part of a day that mean so much to so many people. I love the quick pace, meeting people, and creating beautiful photographs that a bride and groom enjoy for their lives together.

Mosaic Photo is proud to provide full service wedding photography in Wichita, Kansas. But Laura’s sister, who happened to be a friend of mine in high school, got married in Winnipeg at the beginning of January. So, we had the privilege of driving up to Canada in the dead of winter to take wedding photos. Really, we had a great time. Even though it was so cold that our tire lost pressure and came off the rim.

The wedding was beautiful. It was held at a golf course southwest of Winnipeg. Here are some of my favorite pictures from the day. Since it’s not every day we shoot outside of Kansas, there are quite a few.

Mosaic Photo had the true privilege of shooting Erin and Mike’s wedding. A while back, C.J. and I had shot their engagement photos. Their wedding was a great reflection of their personalities. A small, intimate ceremony with family. Then, we got to spend a lot of time with just the bride and groom taking portraits of them. After that, their reception was a fun party, with games and our photo booth.

It really feels like we made great friends with this amazing couple. Congrats, Mike and Erin.

I can’t say enough how blessed we are with amazing clients. While there are too many great photos of couples to count (well, too many for my attention span), here are some of my favorites from the year. It was really hard to pick.

We have the best clients. Really. These are some of my favorites from the awesome brides we had this year. Enjoy.

C.J. and I went out to Sedgwick County Park in west Wichita to take some engagement portraits of Kari and Kaleb. The autumn colors were amazing, and so were these two. Awesome and laid back, Kari and Kaleb really connected.

Kaleb wasn’t too sure about the whole getting his picture taken thing, but I don’t think we made it too painful on him. Always good to meet a fellow Cowboys fan.

C.J. and I took senior pictures for a laid back guy

Mike was very relaxed and chilled. We had a great time with him and getting to know him. A huge compliment to us is when we know the subject doesn’t like getting his picture taken, but ends up having a good time. Or at least, a better time than he thought it’d be.
