Wedding Album Design for Josh and Terra
We designed this wedding album for Josh and Terra’s wedding. I’m really excited with how it came out. It’s a hardback album with flush mounted pages.

Thanks to the folks at Zenfolio for continuing to enhance their products and services with this new slideshow feature and much more.

Here’s a Mosaic Photo promotional…well um, mosaic that we designed.  In it, there are quite a wide range of photos. Families, seniors, weddings. It is a collection of highlights for us in the last few months from the defining moments in their lives. A collection of diverse elements forming a coherent whole.

So if you need a portrait or wedding photographer, let us know. Contact us at info [at] themosaicphoto . com

My good friend Matt and I made some pictures for his senior recital announcements

Back in March, Matt asked me to create some portraits of him. The idea was to get one or two shots for an announcement he was going to send out for his senior composition recital. Matt’s very talented and creative. He also let me have free reign over the session, and I’m really happy with what we came up with. All of the pictures are very much him, capturing something about his personality. Below is the card I designed with the images I took:

Let us tell the story of your wedding day

With all of the dreaming, planning, and effort put into a wedding day, your memories are going to be unforgettable. But, there are a lot of things going on with a wedding. Getting ready. The preceremony portraits. Walking down the aisle. The ceremony, exchanging vows. The recession. Party with family friends at the reception.

That’s why we include wedding albums with (most) packages.  These albums are a great way to tell the story of your wedding day.  We create simple designs that place the focus on the highlights of the day.  The result is a fun, permanent way to remember a detailed account, helping you remember the flow of the day.

We use a company that makes wonderful, deluxe wedding albums, Zookbinders.  The album is well put together and has a quality feel to it.  One of my favorite things is the way every page lays flat (check out the picture below).  There are many options and sizes available, ranging from hardback books to leather bound ones, with sizes from pocket-sized to 12×12 coffee book table ready books.

They have a nice little section of their site devoted to brides. Or, download their product brochure here. Heads up though – it’s a 10 MB file, so it could take a while.

Cool photos make for cool designs.

C.J. and Laura went out and took some great engagement pictures of Aaron and Katie. Laura grabbed a shot that I immediately saw had great graphic potential. Then I learned that they did want a save the date card.

Since their wedding is going to be a summer wedding, I liked the idea of the bright blues. So my post processing was geared toward making the colors pop a bit more. Then I started laying out the text. I wanted a clean, simple look, while still adding a couple of graphic elements to the card. So keep us in mind if you happen to need a card or any other type of design along with your photos.

Here is the result:
Save the Date Card

Oatmeal olympics. It’s exactly what it sounds like.

Recently, I got a chance to design an event mailer for a local church. The event: Oatmeal Olympics. There were several oatmeal related competitions. And truly more oatmeal than I could imagine. The goal of this design project was to provide the youth of the church with some fliers that they could hand out to their friends.

I grabbed a tub of Quaker’s Oatmeal out of my mom’s cupboard and set up a quick picture for the background. (In retrospect, I would have cooked the oatmeal to really capture the messy, gooey-ness of the day…) Also, I decided that there needed a wooden spoon. You know, the kind the lunch lady with the hair net used to stir the oatmeal before she plopped it on your tray.

Design is fun. We’ve done design for wedding invitations, save the date cards, Christmas cards, and websites. A lot of our design is photo-driven (and a lot of our photography, great for design). So keep us in mind and we’ll make something you-driven for your event, celebration, or just something to share with people you care about.
