At Mosaic Photo, we love shooting outdoor weddings. This was our first time shooting at Camp Hiawatha, just north of Wichita.Graham and Erin are both joyous people normally, and even more so on their wedding day. They’re great people, and we had a great time shooting.

Wedding days can get pretty busy. From getting ready, to the photos (as photographers, we try to make it relaxed and fun, at least), to the ceremony, there isn’t always a chance for the bride and groom just to slow down and be with each other. Sometimes, the first dance is that little getaway.

With our telephoto lenses, we silently watch and wait to capture some amazing moments. Here are some of our favorites from this year.

While I love color photos, I figured I’d show our high contrast black and white photos here (we shoot and deliver both, though).

Some of my favorite photos from each wedding are the bride and groom together. I describe these types of portraits to be editorial. These photos aren’t posed, but directed. The result is a real moment that is captured beautifully and memorably.

The main theme through all of these photos is the authentic, candid interaction between two people in love on their wedding day.

Photos like these are some of the main reasons why I like wedding photography.

Sometimes the wedding party photo is the iconic image of a wedding. The bride, the groom, their friends. All the guys in tuxes, the ladies in their dresses. Wedding parties show the style of the wedding: the flowers, the colors. Not to mention they’re the bride and groom’s closest friends or family. Without further ado, here are some of our favorite wedding part photos from 2010.

At Mosaic Photo, our philosophy on wedding photography is that there are many unique pieces that come together on a wedding day. It would be easy for these details to get overlooked when looking at the whole story. We know a lot of thought and energy went into these details, so we make it a point to take a few moments and highlight them.

A huge part of the wedding day is focused on the bride. The dress. Her hair and makeup. Everything comes together for a perfect memory. We like to capture everything that went into the preparation in a modern, clean portrait of the bride.

We had a great year with some great people. Our clients consistently amaze us. Taking a look back at the year is always fun for us.

At Mosaic Photo, we love telling stories. A big part of that is documenting the joy of the day through portraits. Here are a few of our favorite groom photos.

Mosaic Photo had the privilege to shoot Leah and Andrew’s wedding. C.J. and I had a great time with them shooting their engagement photos, and their wedding was a great carryover into a warm, welcoming, and hospitable atmosphere the day of the wedding. We definitely loved the classy vintage feel the wedding had, too. It ended up being one of the hottest days of the year, but we still were able to pull off a few outdoor shots before we completely melted.

For a change of pace, here’s a slideshow of their wedding album. Our goal with wedding albums is to tell the story of the wedding day in a beautiful, memorable way.

I’m always amazed at how we consistently have such fun couples as clients. Emily and Jarred no exception.

Their wedding ceremony was at the Bartlett Arboretum down in Belle Plaine. It was well worth the drive, as it is definitely in our favorite venues now. After their gorgeous ceremony, we all traveled north back to Wichita to the Crown Uptown for the reception.

Becky and Wes had an amazing outdoor wedding at Prairie Pines. With rain looming, we were very thankful that it held off for most of the day. Here are some favorites from the day, including one of my favorite dance pictures to date.

Mosaic Photo travelled up to Buhler, Kansas to shoot Kari and Kaleb’s wedding. We soon learned that things move a little slower in the small town – which was a nice change of pace. Again, we were blessed to be working with such nice, hospitable families.

We had the opportunity to shoot Abby and Austin’s wedding back on St. Patrick’s Day. It was a really fun day. The ceremony was held in Abby’s aunt’s house – which was amazing. The reception was a pub crawl through Old Town. Good times with great people.
